Always backup!

My laptop has been screaming in the last phase of my PhD. 4 years of work has been too much for it! After some diagnostics I am pretty sure it is a fan problem. And two weeks before my PhD ends, its battery died, too. A right timing, but also a scary timing. I felt lucky that the laptop didn’t just break down suddenly. Otherwise, I may need to build some recent work from scratch again. (Most of my codes and writings are saved on cloud, but there are always some small bits of things stored locally - so it wouldn’t be an end of the world, but just an extra day of hassle). At any rate, In its screaming voice I backed everything up.

Changing the fan and battery was less easy than I’ve thought, but luckily not too difficult. Thanks to the youtube videos!

Now, a new life for my old laptop! Let’s see how many more years you can run…
